  • Articles Summarizing Recent Public Forum Available Please refer to the following articles to learn more about the Public Forum from August 3, 2016.  The Building Committee will discuss data gathered at the forum and will make recommendations to the School Board about which unfunded components to include in the project and whether those components would be paid for via local tax dollars or private fundraising.  PDT Architects and the Building Committee are beginning to plan for construction including work on new roadways, parking, and pre-construction of athletic fields.   • Plans for Public Forum and Design Scheme 10.3 Take Shape Public comment during the July 27th meeting of the Building Committee included questions and concerns regarding athletic facilities and a plan for avoiding negative student impact during construction.  The PE /Athletic Committee has invited those interested to attend their next meeting to hear about the planning process for athletic facilities during construction.  The BC also planned for the August 3 Forum.  Various sub-committee Chairs will report out regarding potential areas needing additional funding:  Those areas include Academics, Athletics, and High-Performance Building.  The community will be asked to prioritize those items requiring additional funding.   • Press Release for August 3, 2016 Public Forum M.S.A.D. 75 High School Project Public Forum Press Release On August 3, 2016, M.S.A.D. No. 75 will hold a Public Forum to discuss the Mt. Ararat High School Construction Project. The meeting will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the High School Commons. The public is invited to hear an update on construction project progress and to provide feedback concerning various projects not funded by the State of Maine. According to Superintendent of Schools, Brad Smith, “The State of Maine will pay for the cost of state approved items.   • Concept Design Details Take Shape in MTA High School Project There is an important forum on August 3, 2016, at the MTA Commons at 6:30 pm. The forum is an opportunity to share your thoughts with the Building Committee about the concept design and unfunded project costs suggestions.Click here for a list of the unfunded project cost suggestions. Major areas identified as “potential unfunded costs” include athletics, academic classrooms, and a high-performance building.  All costs are preliminary and not final.  None of the numbers of the building project features have been approved.   • Scheme #10 is New Focus - Save the Date Two new schemes for the building project, 10 and 11, were discussed in depth at the June 1 Building Committee Meeting.  At the end of the meeting, the committee members voted unanimously to focus attention on the development of scheme # 10.  Therefore, PDT is focusing on developing that concept design further and has set aside #11 for now. Scheme #10 is referred to as the "Y" scheme. Some of the key features of scheme #10 include a larger student parking lot, main entrance on the east side of the building, service on the west side of the building and a central hub where the Learning Commons, Forum, Dining Commons, entry lobby, and Special Education Offices are located.  Please note that ...
