Building Committee votes to consider only test fit sites that allow students to remain in the existing building during construction. Pending State Board of Education approval, the Mt. Ararat High School Building Committee recommends building new as opposed to renovating the current high school. In addition, Portland Design Team (PDT) is applying for a site application that will allow the current campus to be the site of the new high school. There will be a straw poll to the community asking if they approve use of the current campus rather than finding another site elsewhere. There are several potential “test fit sites” where the high school could be placed on the current campus. Specific placement of the high school on the current campus will be determined at a later date. You can download a document showing “test fit sites” by clicking HERE. Results of the community straw poll scheduled for January, 2016 will go to the State Board of Education for final approval concerning the use of the current Mt. Ararat High School campus as the site of the new project. |
